Step Up For Students empowers families to access the best possible learning options for their children. Step Up For Students is a state-approved, nonprofit scholarship funding organization that helps administer scholarships for Florida schoolchildren:

1. Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC)

The Florida Tax Credit (FTC) Scholarship Program offers K–12 students in Florida the opportunity to attend eligible private schools or participate in personalized education programs. Funded by corporate donations in exchange for state tax credits, the program aims to expand educational options for families across the state.

2. Family Empowerment Scholarship with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) is a Florida program designed to provide families of students with disabilities access to additional educational options. This scholarship offers an Education Savings Account (ESA) that can be used for various approved educational expenses.

3. Hope Scholarship

The Hope Scholarship Program in Florida offers K–12 public school students who have experienced certain incidents—such as bullying, harassment, or violence—the opportunity to transfer to another public school or enroll in an eligible private school. This program is designed to provide a safer and more supportive educational environment for affected students

4. Personalized Education Program Students (PEP)

The Personalized Education Program (PEP) in Florida offers families the flexibility to tailor their child’s education through an Education Savings Account (ESA). This program is ideal for students not enrolled full-time in public or private schools, providing resources to support a customized learning experience.

How do I use my EMA-Step Up account to pay tuition at APA?

Advance Prep Academy accepts tuition payments through the EMA-Step Up for Students program, providing families with a seamless way to utilize their scholarship funds. Follow these steps to ensure your tuition is paid using your EMA-Step Up account:

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you use your EMA-Step Up account to pay your tuition at APA:

Apply for EMA Online

Begin by completing your application for the EMA-Step Up for Students program online.
Submit all required documentation to determine eligibility for the scholarship.

Receive Your Award Letter

Once approved, you will be provided with an official award letter & ID.
Once you have received your award ID a copy should be provided to the APA Admissions department, which is essential for making tuition payments.

Approved school enrollment on the EMA platform. Once approved recipient will receive an email each quarter from Step Up & APA notifying parents that invoice needs to be approved and funds sent to APA for student tuition processing.

Coordinate with APA Administration

Inform APA’s administrative office once your payment is sent.
Provide any necessary confirmation details, such as your award ID, to ensure proper application of the payment to your tuition account.

Monitor Payment Status

Regularly check your EMA-Step Up account to confirm that payments are processed and track your remaining balance.

The Advance Prep Academy Tuition & Fee schedule will be provided to parents during the student enrollment meeting.
